To enhance The Gaff’s online presence with a refined, user-focused website that communicates the restaurant’s ethos, facilitates easy bookings, and aligns with its creative, high-quality dining experience - while also evolving the brand’s visual identity and digital consistency.
Working with Dani and the team at The Gaff, this project involved a full website redesign within Squarespace, the platform they were already comfortable using. We upgraded the build to make use of Squarespace’s more flexible Fluid Engine layout system - offering improved design control and responsiveness across devices. This digital refresh also presented an opportunity to further develop The Gaff’s brand identity, refining its visual presentation both on and offline.
The redesign focused on showcasing The Gaff’s unique approach to dining—creative small plates, global flavours, and a relaxed but stylish atmosphere. We established a clearer site structure to guide visitors through menus, opening hours, booking info, and key dining policies. To support the restaurant’s seasonal updates, the site is easy for the team to maintain, with flexible sections for menus and announcements.
Alongside the website development, I refined the brand identity by creating new logo variations, and establishing a consistent colour palette and typographic style to be used across digital and print assets moving forward. The result is a clean, image-led website that reflects the quality and warmth of the dining experience while strengthening brand recognition and usability.
The finished product is not just a new site, but a more confident, consistent, and experience-led digital home for one of Abergavenny’s standout food destinations
