The goal was to design and develop an inclusive, accessible, and easy-to-manage website for BVLGBT+, helping them better serve their community, promote events, and manage membership resources through a centralised, welcoming digital hub.

This project involved the complete redevelopment of the BVLGBT+ website using Wix Studio. The aim was to create a secure, community-driven platform that reflects the group’s values of inclusion, visibility, and support. The new site needed to improve content organisation, enhance accessibility, and offer flexible tools for publishing events and resources while remaining easy for the team to update in-house.
Working closely with BVLGBT+, I redesigned the site with a focus on clear structure, vibrant but accessible design, and improved usability. The layout prioritises intuitive navigation, with dedicated sections for upcoming events, resources, membership details, and support services. Content is managed through a structured CMS, allowing the team to easily update key areas like events and community news.
Membership functionality was a core feature—restricted content areas were set up to provide exclusive resources to logged-in members, while also offering straightforward registration and access pathways. I also implemented best practices around accessibility, including keyboard-friendly navigation, appropriate contrast ratios, and alt tagging to ensure the site is usable for all visitors.
Built in Wix Designer, the platform balances design impact with ease of use, giving BVLGBT+ the tools to grow and connect their community more effectively. The finished site is welcoming, informative, and purpose-built to support their advocacy and outreach work.
