The brief

To create clean, high-quality product shots of Dusty's Ginger Beer that meet the image requirements of online and physical nationwide retailers. Dusty's needed professional packshots that matched their brand exactly, without the cost and lead time of a traditional studio shoot.

Dusty's is a bold, characterful ginger beer brand with a clear next step in mind: getting onto the shelves and digital listings of nationwide retailers. Part of that is having clean, consistent, high-quality product imagery, and that's where I came in.

The client chose an AI-led approach because it's considerably cheaper and quicker than a traditional studio setup, without compromising on the standard retailers expect. Using the latest generation of AI models, I created and refined a set of clean package shots that sit comfortably alongside conventional studio photography.

Every final image was built exclusively from digital assets supplied by Dusty's. These included multiple lifestyle shots, flat artwork, and reference images of the labels and logos. Clear brand guidelines from the client kept the styling and colour accurate, so the cockatoo, the typography and that distinctive orange all land exactly as they should.

Rather than relying on a single tool, I used multiple AI models across generation and editing, choosing each for what it does best. The real difference came from expert prompt engineering. Careful, detailed direction over lighting, surface, condensation, composition and colour is what separates a convincing product shot from an obviously synthetic one.

The result is a set of images that are virtually indistinguishable from real studio photography. They're high quality enough for all digital use and small to medium scale print applications, from retailer listings and e-commerce to social and marketing.

For Dusty's, it means a faster route to market and a more flexible approach to imagery, with new shots possible without booking another studio day. For me, it's a good example of how new tools can serve a brand's needs, as long as the brand itself, and the craft behind the process, stay firmly in the driving seat.
